🌺 Chuckanut Luau: A Celebration of Rugby, Community, and Culture
Last weekend, the Chuckanut Bay Rugby Club brought back Luau Dinner & Celebration, and what a night it was! The event brought together generations of rugby players, families, and supporters from across our community — from the club’s earliest members to the youngest future players running around the field, forming friendships that will last for years to come.
The evening was filled with laughter, dancing, great food, and even better company. The dancers brought vibrant energy and cultural beauty to the night, filling the crowd with awe and appreciation. Later, the live band 2421, a Washington-based group known for their island sound, kept the good vibes rolling with a set that had everyone on their feet.
Throughout the evening, a shared message could be heard again and again — “this felt like a celebration, not just a fundraiser.” And that’s exactly what we hoped for: a chance to come together, to celebrate what makes Chuckanut special, and to honor the community that keeps rugby alive in Whatcom County.
From the incredible volunteers who cooked, decorated, served, and organized, to every person who joined us in the spirit of aloha — thank you. Events like this remind us that Chuckanut is more than a rugby club. It’s a family that spans generations, cultures, and shared memories.
We’re already looking forward to building on the success of this year’s Luau and creating more opportunities to celebrate Chuckanut in the months and years ahead.
Stay tuned for more photos and future events — and as always, thank you for being part of the Chuckanut Bay Rugby family.
